Monday Review: Shotgun Love (Day 95)

Instead of finishing Personal Taste, as my cousin has been urging me to do, this week I watched the movie Shotgun Love. I found it to be well done. The characters were believable at all stages of their development and the plotline had variety.
The plotline went something like this: Man who eats food for living is star struck by co-worker, but the co-worker already has a lover. When she gets pregnant her lover says "Get rid of it. Me me me me." and she says goodbye to the guy. She and the man who eats food have a misunderstanding and she uses it to convince him to marry her so that she won't be a social outcast for her entire life due to her unborn child. Funny things ensue. People fall in love. People try to break them up. Sad things happen. Baby is born. Story ends. La Cucaracha is used as a credits song.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. It had humour. It had heart wrenching parts. It had relational drama. It made you like the characters after showing their unnattractive sides. And, as a fan of poop jokes, I was pleasantly surprised by an amazing yet gross poop joke.

I give the movie 3.5 stars out of 5. I really enjoyed it while I was watching it, but it's not one that I would readily rewatch. The joy is in watching the emotional drama unfold so once you've seen it there isn't really a desire to see it again. Well... maybe the poop joke could use some more watching. So good.
